We manufacture in excess of 400 products including bricks, blocks, roof tiles and pavers for the homebuilding and renovation markets.
We are currently looking to recruit an EHS Advisor covering our sites in the Midlands – Waresley, Hartlebury & Sandown.
Job Outline:
To proactively assist with the development, implementation, monitoring and review of all EHS strategies, policies and procedures throughout Wienerberger UK.
Key Responsibilities:
  • To undertake audits and workplace/area inspections as directed by the Head of EHS to proactively identify where health and safety management practices can be improved.
  • To undertake investigations for all accidents, incidents, significant occurrences and near misses as required and ensure these are reported accurately to the Head of EHS for reporting purposes and in line with company standards.
  • To collate and analyse accident and incident statistics and recommend intervention strategies; to eliminate or reduce the risk of future occurrences and incidents of ill health and lost time as directed by the Head of EHS.
  • Assist in responding to near misses and unsafe acts reported from employees, contractors, and visitors who enter any Wienerberger Ltd operation.
  • To assist in the development, delivery, and facilitation of training/toolbox talks on health safety and environmental matters.
About You:
Essential Experience:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or Equivalent (SHE NVQ5).
  • IOSH Environmental Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years within a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of PUWER.
  • Good understanding of LOTOTO – Energy Isolation.
  • Good understanding of Working at Height.
  • Good understanding of presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Accident Investigation Training & Understanding of Accident prevention techniques.
  • Ability to use MS office applications – PowerPoint, Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Excellent organisational skills – able to prioritise.
  • Flexible and adaptable – Able to travel to other regions & sites when required.
  • Evidence of promoting a positive health and safety culture & performance.
Desirable Experience:
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  •  NEBOSH Fire Certificate.
  •  Member of IOSH – Technical.
  •  CPD.
  •  Face Fit Trained.
  •  Good understanding of behavioural safety.
  •  First Aid Training
  •  Fire Risk Assessment Training
