We manufacture in excess of 400 products including bricks, blocks, roof tiles and pavers for the homebuilding and renovation markets.
 
We are currently recruiting a Thermal Process Engineer to increase the thermal process knowledge capacity across our northern factories.
 
Main Duties

 
  • To carry out energy assessments on kilns and dryers across the northern factories identifying energy saving opportunities and manage the implementation.
  • To optimise the kiln firing process with a view to improving production yield, reducing energy consumption and increasing thermal output capacity.
  • Assist the factories by helping to resolve firing and or drying issues in order to minimise loss of production.
  • Provide tools and instruments to analyse the thermal process, including data analysis, reports and recommendations.
  • Implementation of best practices, introduction of standards to all key elements to ensure that our kilns and dryers are operated to the best level of productivity.
  • To maintain and improve the ISO 50001 Energy Management System (EnMS) and coordinate all defined energy, carbon and water related matters for the company including new Policies, implementing standards and providing trainings to the local teams.
 
Experience
 
  • Strong understanding of the heavy clay process (raw materials behaviours, drying and firing mechanisms).
  • Extensive kiln and dryer knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of thermodynamic science.
  • Good understanding of mass flow balance.
