Hours: 6.00am to 5.00pm on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (flexibility needed)

We are currently seeking to recruit a Quality Control & Quarry Technician to be based at our Kingsbury factory.
 
Job Outline:
 
To ensure the timely and accurate QC testing of clay samples from the quarry and, to recommend suitable materials, ex the clay win, for use in production.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Coordinate stockpile building plans, sampling, testing and final approval for use of such stockpiles.
  • Make recommendations to line manager about the suitability of raw materials for use in production
  • Assist factory Technical Managers in the sourcing of other production raw materials including sands, stains and body fuels/colourants.
  • Attend Raw Materials Meetings and Production Management Meetings as appropriate.
  • To carry out all duties according to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, Energy, Purchasing and Environmental Management policies and procedures.
  • Keep the shift managers fully aware of all issues in a timely manner.
 
 
About You
 
  • Experience in a quarry, manufacturing or civil engineering background.
  • Degree in a scientific subject (ideally Clay or Ceramics Technology, Chemistry, Materials Science or Environmental Science).
  • Minimum of 2 Advanced Level GCSE’s including Maths and English.
  • IT Literate – spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Experience of working in a Lean Environment is desirable.
  • IOSHH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate is desirable.
