Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.30pm (some flexibility required)
We are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Fabricator to be based at our Todhills factory in County Durham.

We manufacture in excess of 400 products including bricks, blocks, roof tiles and pavers for the homebuilding and renovation markets.

Job Outline:
You will assist the Maintenance department with welding, fabricating and other duties to ensure all equipment is maintained to a high standard to enable better production yield.
Ensure safe working at all times with a right first time every time by everyone attitude to produce a cost effective, quality product whilst adhering to the Company’s policies and procedures.
Main responsibilities:
  • Working to ensure that all dryer trams on site are operating efficiently with the minimum amount of downtime and they are kept in safe and good mechanical working order. 
  • Replace bearings using hand tools, welding and replacing broken or bent metal components and heating metal so it can be manipulated back into shape.
  • When necessary, carry out maintenance operations to all plant equipment and machinery in line with Company requirements.
  • Maintain and monitor the machines and equipment to enable them to achieve their budgeted outputs at the required quality levels.
  • Ensure that all machine guards are fitted correctly in accordance with H&S requirements.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork associated with the task you are performing in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Report any problems regarding equipment and machinery immediately to the Team Leader on shift.
  • Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve your efficiency.
Skills & experience:
  • Fabrication / Welding qualifications.
  • Experience in heavy machinery is desirable.
  • Maintenance fitting experience is desirable.
  • Fork lift truck licence is desirable.
